Full Time Service Manager Position at our
Caribou, Maine location
General Job Summary: This
position is responsible for the overall operation of the Service Department
including revenue, profit and loss.
Works with a staff of Service Technicians and Field
Technicians. Manage the processes of rental repair and maintenance,
warranty, and service contract work orders. Interacts with customers to build
strong relationship.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* Responsible for daily operations of the branch location including
development, evaluation and
motivation of Service Department staff.
* Employee development and training
*
Establish revenue goals and profitability of the department and ensure
revenue goals are attained.
* Monitor work schedule to ensure customer needs can be met on a timely
basis.
* Assist customers in the resolution of complaints regarding equipment service
* Operate various types of heavy-duty equipment to move them in and out of
work area.
* Change engine oil, filters, hydraulic hoses and filters.
* Diagnose and adjust hydraulic pressure.
* Disassemble and remove engines, transmissions and other drive train
components and replace after
diagnosis.
* Remove and install hydraulic pumps and motors.
* Test fuel injection systems on diesel engines. Remove and replace
injection
pumps and other fuel systems
components.
Other Requirements:
* Perform all service tasks as assigned by Branch Manager.
* Participate in specialized training classes.
* Complete all required paperwork.
* Work safely and use safe techniques.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:
* Prior experience in heavy equipment technical repairs.
* Associates degree desired but not necessary depending on experience.
* Supervisory experience with the ability to delegate and motivate employees.
* Ability to communicate effectively.
* Computer literate
